Flying "G" History
An electrician by day and a team roper at heart, Gary
Grundahl “caught” the team roping bug while at a high school rodeo where his
daughter was competing.
Gary built the outdoor arena at Flying “G” Ranch in 1999.
It wasn’t too long before Gary wanted to “scratch the team roping itch”
during the winter too. One Sunday he
saw a used steel building for sale in the paper.
He bought the building and began trying to engineer the huge pile of
steel into an arena. The outcome is
a beautiful, heated and insulated indoor arena. The picture is the indoor
arena during the 2005 Ted Robinson Clinic held by the MCRA.
We team rope every chance we get! We really enjoy team roping and the camaraderie that goes along with it! We hope to see you in the arena someday too!
